So, me, being the little lady (lady being an over-estimate here) I am, I am not going to a cool wedding and dancing with my family this weekend.
A've actually only ever been to one wedding in my life, and it was probably the most mortifying thing in my life...
I was the flower girl, but I didn't know I was supposed to, you know, throw the petals. So me and Morgan (both flower girls) did this dramatic bow-thing where we set one petal down at a time after we took a step. Then, when we got to the alter, I thought all my petals were supposed to be gone so I dumped my basket out. Milky petals went floating to the capret in a big, silky pile.
Then, of course, since wedding ceremonies do get quite boring, I stuck the handle of my (now empty) flower basket in my mouth and started hitting my sister over the head with it... (well geez, she's my sister. Sue me.)
Then, in front of the guests, I decided to examin my undergarmets and lifted up my flowy dress (luckily I was wearing these little bloomer things)
So there's my experience. I was three though. I have an excuse.
Now, if I had, say, done that a few days ago at my aunts wedding, yeah, I think something would be wrong with that. (Don't even start thinking: Well, it's Sydney here, I don't know...) Ok, you're probably right.
And now I've decided my favorite pass-time is to look at bridal magazines and gowns.
Anyway, as I write this woeful (not so sure how woeful it is now because my little sister is howling on the floor holding her sides because I just read it to her) story, the house smells like little chicken Taquitos and my little tummy is making noises that should belong to a lion... NOT ME!!!
And this weekend (my birthday weekend AIEEE!!!!) I am going up to the mountains with Grace and her family!! I am so excited!! This is such a blessing and joy, I am extremely excited. Really floks, count your blessings.
And I'm glad to say that I helped contribute to Emma's ever-expanding GOT MILK? collection... she got one of her posters from my Housekeeping magazine (ok, so it was my mom's magazine, I still helped cut it out and find it.)
Then it's birthday on Sunday, party in the house (or Meltdown, whichever you prefer).
Before I go I would like to update you with a few Pearls of Pearly Wisdom:
- My poor little fingers turned into little raisins today when I took a shower. Why? Well, because, I was sanding a front desk for a hotel with my bare hands and sheets of sand paper, that's why. Now my fingers (on my right hand, mind you) are all scarred and cut up in little patches because of the sand paper.
- But why am I complaining? I got paid. So there's a plus.
- I had to scrub my legs twice to get all the dirt and gunk off.
- And I am leaving for the mountains tomorrow, tell me that's not a reason to celebrate.
- Exactly.
- Enough said.
Trip, Ace & Demo,
~Yours Truly
