Hey readers! Just an update: Sydney made a new blog! We hope you can all take a look at it and (hopefully) enjoy it! The link has been posted below:

Have a great, great week!

Well lookie here! Only a week later and I'm blogging again! What a wonderful, wonderful thing!!
I've started reading the book "When God Doesn't Make Sense" by Dr. James Dobson and it's really, really, really life changing. Lately I have felt kind of lonely, like God hasn't been listening to me. Does anyone else ever feel that way? However, as I've come to realize through this book that God doesn't have to make sense. He's God. It says in 2 Chronicals 32:31;

"So God left [Hezekiah] to see everything that was in his heart."

I have come to believe that God will never fail me. He will simply test me to see how much I love Him. To see how badly I want him. And I want him BAD. I don't care anymore what persecution I go under, I want more. God says he will push us to the edge, but never to our breaking point. Though it may feel like that, we can still go another nine miles.
I have to say, that's an awesome thing.
Keep standing strong my friends! There is never anything more than you can take!
  • Oh, one more thing. Emma and I have begun the "Be Positive No Complain" Challenge. i guess you can guess what that means: complaints and negativity are out the door! I really, really encourage you to hop on board :)

Well, in all honesty this blog has truly, been neglected for way, way, way, way, way, way (etc.) long. Emma and I have been, for lack of a better word, slacking. Oops. In all truth, there is never an excuse not to blog. To say the least, I have nothing to say. So here you go: the shortest post ever! I'm just kidding this will definitely be longer than that. I have to warn you though, I only have 5 minutes to wrap this baby up. No pressure or anything.

  • First things first: Emma made a website about shark finning, it is a big deal, and a horrible thing that happens everyday. If you could take a peek at the site, the link it posted right over here: www.stopsharkfinning2013.wikispaces.com
  • Oh by the way, if you could comment on her space that would be great!
  • Right now Lauran and Emma are arguing about how you pronounce 'zoology'.
  • So, in school we're reading Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet and I am coming to realize more and more of how I don't want to date. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean I won't ever date (ever heard of marriage? A pretty dandy thing) I just don't want to date now. I want to be where God wants me, doing what He wants me to do. Trust me, it isn't always easy. I don't exactly ask for trials, but I accept them, because without them I wouldn't get to where I was going. I would learn.
  • Oh, and I'm not a fan of Shakespeare. It kind of adds a whole new level to the lesson.
Alrighty now, I'm going to continue the list of things that I like!
  1. I like writing. It's really quite enjoy it! I finally, FINALLY started working on my book(s) again, and I find it really is relieving.
  2. Good movies. What are your favorite movies?
Well, that's all I have for you! Have a great, great week!!

Well Dear Readers, I'm thinking of changing out background, and I'll have to talk to Emma about it, but I'm pretty certain we can agree on a new design.
I want to thank everyone for the comments! I have to say that I greatly enjoy blogging, which lead me to decide to write a blog about what I like!
(WARNING! THIS MAY BE A LITTLE LONG!)

  1. Well, I really like reading the Bible (I would say I loved it, because I do, but this is a post on things I love).
  2. Cute clothes. I can be rather fashion-shopping savvy, so when I find cute cheap clothes I am all over that! However, I do like designer clothing!
  3. Visiting family!!!
  4. Taking pictures, I often forget to bring my camera with me, but when I do I take SO many pictures!
  5. Oh I do enjoy Jelly Beans! SO, SO GOOD!!!
  6. Reading blogger comments. One of these days when we get more followers, more comments will come! However, right now three comments on average per post make me SO happy!!
  7. Pretty things. Who doesn't like pretty things?
  8. Commercials. OK let's be real here, who doesn't like commercials. When I do watch TV on rare occasions, pretty much the only reason I watch is for the commercials. Which, speaking of never watching TV, my older sister and I are now starting to watch the show "Survivor" every Thursday! I have to say I'm pretty excited!
  9. Church, definitely.
  10. Uh... Books. Most definitely books. And yes, I have ended my reading boycott because I simply could not keep myself from reading the last 2 "Mysterious Benedict Society" books. (By the way, they're GREAT books!)
Well, that's all I can think of at the moment. My cousin Libby commented on our blog! I was, to say the least, rather excited!

Ok, yes, I know I have been slacking on blogging. Really, I do apologize. I don't mean to, honestly I don't. It just can be very discouraging to blog when it feel that nobody reads what I write. Oh ho ho, I was proven wrong when I got three comments on my last post! So there you go, I have no excuse but to blog!

  • I'm writing this on a particularly interesting keyboard, considering the entire thing is flat. My fingers are not yet accustomed!
  • It's been a rather trying new year, I am not going to lie. Battles I never expected have been coming, and to be honest, at times I wanted to give up. Because in my mind, there was no logical reason as to why. But no, I will never give up. NEVER.
  • You want to know why? Because my struggle here on Earth is only for a handful of years, and then for eternity I am free.
  • I think that's an awesome thing!
  • As is said in MercyMe's song "Finally Home" when they say;
I'm gonna wrap my arms around my Daddies neck, and tell him that I missed Him. Tell Him all about the man that I became and hope that it pleased Him. When I finally make it home....
  • One day it will all be worth it! That's worth looking forward to, no matter which way you slice it.
  • Sorry this blog is kind of short...

"Let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath."
(James 1:19)

Let's just say I need to allow God to work with me via this verse. Because I'm Sydney, and there are things in me that constantly need changing. Trust me, I could never do what that very says on my own!
Smile extra big today!

Alright, so I have discovered that it is nearly impossible for me to wake up and be hilarious OR poetic. When I wake up, my eyes are nearly glued shut, my hair looks quite electrifying, and my face is... priceless.
Needless to say, I defied all odds today, and was being hilarious AND poetic mere moments after I rolled out of bed at the un-thinkable hour of 6am (I really need to talk to my subconscious about its hours).
ANYWAY.

  • Sorry about that little blurb there (YES! I BROUGHT THE WORD BACK!)
  • I honestly have to say that NONE of Leah's dreams definitely did not compete with the dream I had last night. Because Leah's dreams don't involve the kids from my French class, ping-pong, my aunt and uncle, Lake Powell, blue Delorians', sharks and Selena Gomez (SELENA GOMEZ?!?!)
  • I told you, my subconscious needs a pep-talk.
  • So, for those of you who have ever heard of the one-man-band Owl City, you have probably heard the song Fireflies. I don't know why, but I like the music. It's totally pointless, but it makes me want to dance (and I CANNOT dance).
  • While we're on the topic of music, I really love the song Finally Home by MercyMe. I don't cry in songs, heck, I don't cry almost ever. But there are those few moments when something strikes the right cord and I start bawling my eyes out.
  • AND I love a lovely piano song called Comptine d'un aure ete l'apres midi (yes, I know it's a long name, and it's most definitely not English).
  • For the longest time I have been asking Emma to learn it and play it for me because Sydney + Piano = not a good sound.
  • And she did. She blindfolded me, and sat me on the couch and started playing. I seriously wanted to cry, and hug her at the same time. It was so, so beautiful. If I ever become more tech-savvy I'll post the video I took of her playing on this lovely blog.
  • Which, I hope people still read. Because I write this stuff, and it would be great if it was being consumed.
  • If it's not being read, then I feel like one of those schizophrenic people in New York who walk down the streets speaking to themselves.
  • For those of you who are wondering, the photo for this blog is one my sister took of my cousin Rachael and I at the beach. It is my favorite picture in the world!!!
  • I love the title of this blog post. I think that should be my life's slogan.
  • Alas, I have run out of things to say...

"Do not fear little flock, your Father wants to give you the kingdom." (Luke 12:32)

Thursday, 21 January 2010

So, I find it extremely disheartening to know that I haven't blogged in... nine days. That's a little disappointing. I really need to get on it! So, once again, I apologize.

  • I'm writing this from school, and I know I should not but I have no homework. Seriously. I'm done. Totally. Completely. It's kind of odd, not having homework, considering that I have almost two hours of it every night.
  • I have come to the horrible realization that iTunes has raised the price of its songs from 99cents to $1.29. That's a little ridiculous to me, if you would like me to be totally honest. So now, I can only buy... 19.4 songs (yes, I just plugged that into my calculator).
  • The reading strike has held strong, until today. Yes, I will start reading again today. I have really been aching to read the two final books in The Mysterious Benedict Society series. That is, I will read it if I can find time to.
  • Yeah... that's looking less and less likely by the minute.
  • What has made me so busy lately, you ask. That's a great question, and I don't have a good answer for it. I just find myself so busy lately with the most random things. Ridiculous? I do believe so.
  • I'm extremely excited for Friday night. The reason is simple: I'm hanging out with three of the most wonderful people I have known. I couldn't be happier. Litterally.
  • Thank you once again, Faithful Readers for listening faithfully, and commenting often.

"It is not yet time for the message to come true, but that time is coming soon; the message will come true. It may seem like a long time, but be patient and wait for it, because it will surelyy come; it will not be delayed." (Habakkuk 2:3)

Sydney and I decided that our blog was getting a little dull, well actually I decided that our blog was getting a little dull, so then we were riding the bus today and we thought of the best idea ever. This may seem really weird and even a little inhuman… I’m going to start writing the blog from the point of view of a witch, from Harry Potter. Now I know that there are probably a lot of readers out there who don’t read Harry Potter. There are probable even a few of you who have started to read it but decided that you don’t like it. I ask that you still read the posts that I write. Thank you.

Monday, 11 January 2010

So... here it is.

YOUR FIRST POST OF 2010!!
That's right Faithful Readers, I can tell you're excited.
I however, find it a little shameful that I'm writing this on the twelfth and well... that's a wee bit into 2010.
But who cares? The point is, I posted! The question now is, what should I write? It's a great question, and considering all that is running through my head constantly I should be able to come up with something. You would think. Alas, Dear Readers, I seem to have come up empty, except for these few key things.
  • Church was beyond amazing.
  • I've found that as I hunger for my calling and seek God's face, he comes through. Yeah it's rough quite often, but the reward is so much better.
  • My iPod is adorable.
  • The movie "It's A Wonderful Life" really keeps me up thinking late at night (not that I don't stay up thinking anyway)
  • I miss my family in California, but I love my family here and all my great, great friends!!
  • This post doesn't have much point to it...
  • One more thing: let's all be a little more thankful. And not complain so much! My mom pointed out that when her kids complain it makes her not want to give them anything. And I TOTALLY don't blame her. I've put a ban on complaining.
  • And books. The "No Books" strike is still up and running! (That is until I start reading the three books I got for Christmas... I'll keep you posted :))
  • Have a fantastic week my Dear Readers!!!
Trip, Ace & Demo,

~Yours Truly

P.S. Pictures fascinate me. Along with John 15:19 "If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you." (I'll write a post about this some other time)
